Beyond Expectations: Reviewing Candy Coated's Customizable Pup Suits

Posted by Torstein Molland on Apr 18th 2024

First of all, I would like to applaud candy coated for their immaculate professionalism and continued effort to update their buyers on the current status of the project. They sent out a monthly update email about the progress of both building the pup suits as well as new techniques they discovered and statistics on completed and pending suits which was very reassuring for me as a buyer. Additionally, you get added to their "Trello board" which includes automated status updates as your suit progresses through the different phases internally at candy coated (stress test, crafting, etc.). They also took great care to ensure everyone got their measurements correct as well as offering numerous opportunities for adding enhancements to the suit (zippered items, tunnels, etc.). They also developed a new set of paws after the initial set had been developed and offered these to their customers as an alternative free of charge. Overall, the process within candy coated is superb and I would highly recommend buying from them and will do so myself in the future. As for the pup suit itself, it is incredibly well-built and sturdy yet soft. In the box, you get a pamphlet with instructions on how to use it as well as very important safety instructions, some adhesive, and patch material. Oh and of course a super cute sticker! :3 The suit is easy to put on and inflate. Thankfully candy coated has uploaded multiple videos showcasing how to put on the suit, how to take care of the suit, how to repair it, and so on. They've even uploaded the crafting videos their crafters use to make adjustments to the suit which is super nice of them! It's really cool to see exactly how it's made. As for wearing the suit, it's a lot of fun! This is my first inflatable suit and the experience of wearing it is like a tight yet soft hug all over your body. It's definitely a full-body experience. I really like how you can adjust the inflation level (within safe margins) to feel different sensations. It's also fun to combine with someone laying on you or sitting on you. Walking around in it is (of course) a smidge more difficult than without the suit but surprisingly easy still. Your visibility through the head is good but you lose part of your side and straightforward vision. That's not a problem though as your handler can help you navigate. It also makes very satisfying "pooltoy" sounds as you move about which I really enjoy. I've only walked on thoroughly vacuumed low carpet or wooden floor which has worked well. The paws have numerous reinforcements, but I wouldn't trust them to be leak-free if you decide to walk in, for instance, a hotel corridor which may have rocks or other debris on them. Maybe in the future, we'll have goofy-looking slipper attachments for such an occasion, or I imagine it would be possible to come up with some sort of protection for these. Either way, as candy coated says "you're a pooltoy now and need to know how to repair yourself". Of course, there's a tutorial from candy coated on their YouTube channel showcasing exactly how, common pitfalls, and what you need to be aware of to ensure your repairs are a success. Also, I really like the zipper solution for attaching the paws and head because 1) you can't really put on the paws or head yourself, and 2) it lets you wear just the suit yourself using the rope technique candy coated shows in their videos to pull up the zipper of the suit. Out of safety reasons (my greatest condolences to candy coated on the recent event) I do not wish to wear the head by myself as anything covering your head can be risky, but I still get to enjoy the body part of the suit by myself when my handler is unavailable which I really enjoy. In summary, candy coated is a professional, well-experienced, and super-friendly company with excellent quality, immaculate expertise in pooltoy suit manufacturing and a team of wonderful people I've had a great joy talking to all throughout this project. Their attention to detail is admirable, from the countless tutorials uploaded to their YouTube channel, the numerous emails ensuring the correct measurements and project updates, to the outstanding craftsmanship of the finished product. You can tell they care about all of their customers having a fun experience from before you buy the product (I had some questions before I pressed the buy button which they answered excellently and precisely providing exactly the information I was looking for) to when you receive the product and get to try on an incredibly fun and exciting experience for the first time, and second time because you'll definitely want to keep wearing it due to how fun and silly it can be and is. Thank you to the entire team, the factory, and everyone else who were involved in making this pre-order come to life from idea, to concept, to shipped products. I'm certain you've made a lot of people happy, and I'm thrilled to count myself as one of them!
