Safety
How can I stay safe?
Before using any wearable any restrictive or face-covering item, we highly recommend checking out our safety video located here.
These products are fun, but also carry a high amount of risk. Never use them alone!
Make sure you have someone to never take their eyes off you. Establish a movement to indicate distress before beginning play. Your play partner should have a sharp pair of scissors to cut you out, just in case. We even have emergency kits, so everything that you could want for safety is included.
Some of our suits provide inflation around the neck, so users should be aware that it can be very tight on the neck and can cause you to lose consciousness. Death has occurred due to this in the Squeaky Community. Saliva can also accumulate when sleeping or while unconscious, causing aspiration and death. This is why we say always have a Play Partner or Safety Monitor.
Do not use any item that covers your head in conjunction with drugs or alcohol, or in a situation where you may lose consciousness. Lack of proper airflow can lead to a buildup of CO2 or saliva and can easily lead to death. Our items are fun, but also carry a high amount of risk. Never use them alone!

ORDERING AND SHIPPING
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently accept as forms of payment the following: Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, ApplePay, GooglePay, AliPay, and WeChat Pay. We do not accept partial payments, but a few of the payment options listed above are forms of payment plans. Any options available in your area will appear at the time of checkout.
Do you ever have anything In Stock that I can order and get quickly?
Occasionally we will have an item created as a prototype, as an apprentice project, or just have an order cancelled. When this happens we list the item as IN STOCK, and sometimes it is at a discounted price. These items generally only have one or two in stock and are sold as-is, so once they’ve been purchased they are gone. We encourage people to keep an eye on our store as these items come and go quickly.
I love your products, but can’t afford them right now. Can I pay in installments?
We understand that full payments can be difficult to make for some items. A number of our payment options also offer payment plans. Please be aware that any payment plan requires you to pay on a set schedule and is not associated with Candy Coated in any way. This option shows up at checkout when purchasing your item.If you'd rather save up and purchase your item when you are ready to pay in full that is perfectly fine too. We create each item on a per order basis, unless otherwise noted in the listing, so there is no rush.
Do you do custom latex orders?
We currently are just dipping our toes in latex work and don’t quite feel that we are able to do custom orders yet. Thanks for your interest though!
Why do I have to sign a Customer Agreement when I order my item?
Our Customer Agreement (Terms of Agreement and Policies) is required for almost every item in our store. This makes sure that you are well informed of what is expected of you, what is expected of us, and transparency about what our policies are. Without agreeing to this, you will not be able to purchase most items in our store. We encourage you to read these before placing your order.
Will I get updates on my order? What about tracking information?
We do our very best to keep our customers updated on the progress of their order. We use a system called Trello that will email you to inform you each time your item moves to the next stage of completion. Once your item has been shipped you will receive an automatic update sent to the email address provided at the time of check out providing you with any tracking information associated with your shipment.
I got a notice that my item has a shipping label, but I haven't seen any movement on the tracking. What's going on?
We are still a very small company and generally are only able to do shipping drop-offs twice a week. We do our best to get your order out quickly, but it can take up to three business days from the time your label is printed to the time it makes it to the shipping carrier. Additionally, sometimes a carrier does not scan the package properly as it goes through the system, so updates do not show up.
What name shows up on my credit card bill? Is shipping discreet?
We understand discretion is a main concern for our customers. When you purchase one of our products, the name reflected on your credit card bill will read “Candy Coated”. Our shipping is generally in a regular cardboard box, mailing envelope, or occasionally we will reuse an Amazon box or the like. The sender’s name on the box is a personal name and CCK, and thus does not attract attention to the contents of the package.
What shipping service do you use?
We now offer several different shipping options. USPS (United States Postal Service) Priority is most frequently used, but we also offer UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Shipping options may vary based on your location.
Why do I have to use Priority if I choose USPS as my shipping option?
USPS does not track, insure, or allow for inquiries or claims for anything being shipped using Ground Advantage or First Class Mail. We have had a lot of issues when using the less costly options through USPS, and are not willing to risk your purchase having an issue that cannot be resolved to the benefit of all parties.
I just got my order in the mail, but it’s covered in powder. What is it?
Nonchlorinated Latex items are powdered in Talcum powder when we ship to prevent sticking in shipping, which can then result in tearing when you first use the item. This powder is quite easy to rinse or wipe off.
Can I talk to someone on the phone about my order?
We are a microbusiness that is made up of part time employees. As such, we do not have a phone number to discuss your order.
REPAIRS
I have latex that needs to be repaired. What do I need to do?
We are happy to take a look at your request. Please fill out the Latex Repair Request form so that we can see if it’s something that we can help you with. Please know that while we do our best, sometimes an item just isn’t salvageable, or we don't feel equipped to accommodate your needs. We try to be completely honest as to whether we feel we can help you or not.
Can you change the zipper on a suit I already have?
Sometimes this is possible, but it really depends on the item and what you are looking to have changed. Please use the Latex Repair Request to discuss it further.
Chlorination
What is chlorination and what does it do to latex?
Chlorination is a surface treatment for latex that makes it feel as smooth as silk without polish. It allows dressing without the use of powder or lube. The chlorination process exposes latex to chlorine gas. It makes it easy to slide against the skin (if dry) so no dressing aid is required. It also feels absolutely incredible to wear especially if sliding against other chlorinated latex people. We offer a DIY chlorination kit as well as a chlorination service where you can send your items to us and we will do it for you. Items must be cleaned very thoroughly to remove all lube or it will not work very well. If we receive the items and they need additional cleaning, extra fees will be charged. Chlorination does not work on pvc.

POST CHLORINATION CARE
Learn how to care for your chlorinated latex for long-term enjoyment
When you receive your chlorinated latex back, sometimes white blooming spots will show up during shipping the latex back to you. This sometimes happens and can easily be buffed out by using some silicon lube or silicon latex polish. Put a few drops on the latex and buff with a cloth. Eventually, after buffing for a while, you should have no polish left and also no spots left. Here is a link to video showing this process
If you see white areas along the seams, this is typically the rubber cement that was used to originally build the suit. If the maker did not clean the excess glue off the suit, this glue will turn white after chlorination. The only way to remove this is to use n-heptane, which is the solvent used for cleaning latex cement off. Heptane can be ordered from Amazon.
If you want your chlorinated latex to last for years and years, follow these steps:
1. After wearing, you MUST wash immediately with either a dish washing soap like dawn or with a latex laundry detergent like Vivashine wash. The oils from your skin get into the latex and start breaking it down and makes your latex smell funky too. Dont throw them on the floor and wash the next day. Take in the shower with you and do it when you take it off. The longer the latex is exposed to your oils, the more it will break down.
2. Cover the latex inside and out with silicone lube (like Pjur Original) at least once a year and allow the latex to soak up the silicone. This will protect the latex from oxidation which causes it to break down.
CARING FOR YOUR ITEM
How do I clean Latex?
If it is chlorinated, wash it with dawn dish soap or similar. The easiest way is to take it in the shower with you. Hang to dry and turn inside out after an hour to finish drying.
What lubes can I use with latex?
There is only one lube that is safe with either latex or pvc and that is silicone. All others will dry out and cause the material to crack and fall apart. It is perfectly fine to leave silicone for long periods on silicone. In fact, it prolongs the life of the item because it keeps air from oxidizing it and breaking it down. Latex can be preserved indefinitely in a bag full of silicone. NEVER EVER use mineral oil, baby oil, coconut oil, lotion, or anything with petroleum in it (even most water based lubes have petroleum in them) as it will cause latex to grow several sizes and fall apart.
How do I make my Latex super shiny?
We recommend using BeGloss latex polish to achieve a super shine
How do I make it easier to get in and out of my latex?
If your item is not chlorinated, getting in and out of it can be a bit tricky. We recommend using a dressing aid, which will allow you to slide much easier. Try BeGloss Latex Powder for great results! Remember, a little goes a long way!
Is it possible to sanitize latex?
Yes, latex does very well with light bleach water (one cup per 5 gallons) or Lysol wipes. Isopropyl alcohol works well too.
What is the best way to store latex clothing?
Only use a plastic hanger (never metal) if it is something you use frequently or just for a temporary time. Long periods of time on a hanger without moving the material can cause runs, stretches, and even a breakdown of the material. For long periods, store latex either powdered in talc or soaked in silicone in a sealed zip-lock bag.
